Jess, a makeup artist, and Tomy, a hairdresser, from Hong Kong crossed the globe for their elopement in Santorini. Choosing this stunning island was something they have always dreamt of for their special day.
We met them in Fira at their suite late afternoon.
Jess was just finishing her makeup as we arrived. We remember them being quite giggly which continued through the day.
Not only were Jess and Tomy a lot of fun but they looked great together too. They had a truly quirky air about them – Jess wearing a very cute and serene dress and Tomy with his own unique style.
We walked around Fira to begin with. Together with the couple, we then made our way to Pyrgos. This village is especially exciting with the photo opportunities. All the rustic buildings and alleys have so much to offer! No matter how many times we have been there, it certainly never is the same.
Whenever we find ourselves in Pyrgos, we visit a tunnel under one of the churches. In this case as well as any other hot day, we welcomed the shade and breeze that it offered in the afternoon heat.
Among the rustic buildings, one finds churches with blue domes that are certainly one of the synonyms for Santorini. They can be seen in the background of so many images. As Jess and Tomy wanted to have them in the photos, we embraced the opportunity such as this.
The maze of alleys across this very rustic Greek village is particularly interesting. Jess walked around playing with her pretty dress that looked perfect in the surrounding.
Sunbathed alley in front of Zannos Melathron with a blue dome in the background caught our eye straightaway.
As the ceremony time was approaching, we moved to the caldera. Beyond the last of the hotels in Imerovigli, its highest point rises above the sea. Because of its distance, the area is usually quiet and our couples love spending time there.
Given that their ceremony time was approaching, Jess and Tomy were relaxed and enjoyed this part of the day.
The rugged terrain around us with its burnt colours was particularly alluring in the late afternoon light.
The views from here are very dramatic as the cliffs rise high above the Aegean sea.
Jess and Tomy’s celebration was a sunset one. With the help of Julia and Evita, they had their ceremony under the gazebo of Andromeda villas. There was a lot of giggles and laughter while Jess and Tomy exchanged their vows.
Now that the ceremony was over, Jess and Tomy enjoyed the gentle moments. The light fell beautifully over the terrace. It certainly helped capture the lovely romance they were sharing.
